2018 has been the year of great duets and new albums galore in a host of genres. Here's my 2018 Albums of The Year - enjoy. I listened to lots of albums in

2016 and

Snow Patrol - Wildness
I found this album through a Spotify advert that appeared on my phone one day and was immediately intrigued. Snow Patrol were chart-topping in the early 2000s so I wanted to see what their latest record had to offer. It's a great listen, particularly the alternate versions of 'Life on Earth' and 'What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get' had me producing goosebumps. Definitely one that'll be on heavy rotation throughout 2019.
Chris Lane - Laps Around The Sun
The New Boots playlist on Spotify is a must-follow for any Country fan to discover the newest music. That's where I discovered Chris Lane late last year, and I was delighted to find that he had released
Laps Around The Sun this year. It has irresistible country twang, reminiscent of Kenny Chesney, particularly in my personal stand-out tracks 'I Don't Know About You' and Tori Kelly duet 'Take Back Home Girl'.

Golden Hour - Kacey Musgraves
I was sent a copy of this album to review (read that review
HERE), but I would happily have paid for it. Every time a song from
Golden Hour appears through my headphones or speakers in the car, I'm never inclined to skip any of them. It's an absolute stand-out album for me this year, with not one track being my favourite - like if I had children, I love all the tracks equally.

Golden - Kylie Minogue
The long-time Aussie queen of pop Kylie Minogue released
Golden this year, amazingly it's her 14th studio album and as always, never fails to disappoint. It's a bit more of a dance flavour than previously, but you've got to keep up with the trends to still be a chart-topper.

44/786 - Sting and Shaggy
Perhaps the most unlikely duet in music history, no-one saw Shaggy and Sting ever collaborating on-stage, let alone releasing an entire album together. Somewhat predictably, it's got a reggae rhythm and sound, but also some Sting-infused ballads too.
If you're thinking it'll be full of covers from both of their back catalogues, you'll be disappointed. Despite that, it does reinvigorate the two music veterans, bringing them back into the rather-changed mainstream.
