Blogmas Day 3: Music + Lifestyle Gift Guide

If you haven't bought a Christmas present for the music-loving member of your family yet, then fear not. I’ve got a couple of options for you to explore, for all budgets and styles. There's also some lifestyle gifts in here too, for those who want to explore more in 2019.

Concert Tickets

If you have a relative or friend that loves going to gigs, a good choice is tickets to their favourite artist. The tickets can be expensive, but the surprise and smile on their face will be every penny.

Don’t fall victim to ticket touts though, as using sites like Viagogo have been inflating prices to the top gigs, with artists now invalidating tickets to their gigs that have been sold through such sites. Ticketmaster and AXS are great places to go for different types of events, including festivals and sports events, with reasonable prices for everyone's purse strings.

Ticketmaster Voucher
[Source]
I mentioned it last year and a lot of people said 'I didn't know Ticketmaster did vouchers', well I'm here this year to tell you that they do. Available in any amount up to £250, it'll certainly help your loved one take some of the weight off from their bank balance, whilst also getting to see one of their favourite shows/performers.

You can purchase said vouchers from retailers like Asda, WHSmith and Tesco. Ticketmaster also have them listed on their website if you wish to buy from there instead.

Speakers

Speakers are big business at the moment, with lots of people deciding to blast their tunes far and wide. As with other accessories, there's an option for every budget and lots of brands offer both high-end and entry options for the speaker beginner.

Bang & Olufsen is a great brand, with some really cool designs. The pictured speaker from them is their Beoplay A1, inspired by the nightlights of NYC, costing £229. Sonos is also an industry-leader, but do your research on the best deals - Currys, Amazon* and John Lewis all sell them.

Headphones

People who prefer to listen to music in private need a good pair of headphones. As with all tech, there’s a varied price range. The Bose Soundlink II are a good high-end pair to purchase for a great listening experience - I have a pair, and they’re the best headphones I’ve ever owned.

The noise cancellation is great, blocking out all sound. Not so great when someone wants to speak to you though.

You can purchase them at several retailers, including Amazon (UK* | US), John Lewis and more. Do your research for the best deals and prices.

Vinyl Turntable
[Source]
Vinyl is huge now, seeing a huge revival. If your loved-one is collecting vinyl then a great thing to get them would be a turntable so they can play their favourite 12" to their hearts' content. I have to be honest - they're not cheap, but as with everything if you search around, you can find a great deal. Amazon*'s are reasonably priced, so take a look there.

Music Subscription

[Source]
Spotify and Apple Music have become huge in the last couple of years, with hundreds of millions of people signing up to both services.

Luckily for your loved one, there's no need to for them to shell out for a subscription of the service they choose, as there's vouchers for them to try it out. The length of the voucher varies between 1 month, 3 months and 12 months, so look carefully as to be sure not to buy the wrong one.

You can buy these vouchers in most major supermarkets, and redeem them HERE.

'Rock On' Headphones Stand

[Source]
I saw this accessory online and just thought it was the coolest thing ever to rest your headphones on, particularly if you're prone to losing them or just place them down anywhere. It's definitely something that will stand out on a desk and make sure that you never misplace your headphones again.

They're £14.99 from The Fowndry if you wish to purchase one.

Vinyl Records
[Source]
I mentioned vinyl turntables earlier and if someone's already got one, then what they're going to need is records. Most albums these days (including the classics from The Rolling Stones, Bowie etc.) are also created as vinyl, so be sure to have a look around to see if their favourite artists' album can be played in a new and unique way.

Amazon has got a great collection of both old and new records, so take a look HERE at what they have to offer.

Vinyl Records Frame
[Source]
On that same token - if you know someone who loves vinyl, this is an awesome way for them to show it off in their home. These frames are from Not On The High Street, in either 7" or 12" sizes, for the person receiving them just to slip the vinyl sleeves perfectly into (vinyls not included, unfortunately).

Get them for £12 from Not On The High Street HERE.

The next gifts are a little different, but I also wanted to include some lifestyle-related items, for those who want to get out in nature or get into reading a bit more.

National Trust Membership
[Source]
I recently went to a work team meeting on a National Trust site and the preservation of wildlife there was amazing. The volunteers that came to help us were so lovely and made that we were all so welcome.

Being a National Trust member means not only do you get to explore some breathtaking places, but also help preserve them so they can be visited in future by your children's grandchildren. There's bound to be a National Trust site somewhere near you to go and explore, with membership starting at just £5.75 a month for those looking to join individually. Find out more about membership and the costs HERE.

British Library Membership
[Source]
I know libraries are usually where students go and study, but there's nothing wrong with a library membership. If anyone you know is always reading a book and lives in London, then they'll love this. Not only does it grant them access to the Library's Reading Rooms, but also to the Members' Room, free tickets to events and lots of other perks.

Find out more about membership and prices HERE.

That's it for my 2018 gift guide. Hope you have enjoyed reading and finally have some inspo for great presents this Christmas.

Happy Listening!
